Harith Gunawardena, who was a well-known journalist, advertising designer and the Chairman of Selacine Media Solutions (Pvt) Ltd, passed away on Thursday (December 28) morning. Harith Gunawardena, who was also a journalist and newspaper columnist, died due to a sudden illness that occurred while he was on his way to office that morning.
Harith, who was 57 at the time of his death, was an alumnus of Ananda College, Colombo and a graduate of the University of Colombo. King Barnet published in ‘Divaina’ Sunday edition, ‘Atamessa’ published on the internet and ‘Advertising World’, were among the columns he wrote. He also wrote the script of the political comedy puppet show ‘Always Breakdown’ which was telecast on TNL.
He came to the design field from the Phoenix Advertising Agency and has also worked as a consultant to the Development Lotteries Board. His remains were lying at Moraketiya, Rathmaldeniya Road, Pannipitiya and the funeral was held at Arawwala Public Cemetery yesterday at 5 pm.
