Sri Lanka is set to host its first Ceylon Literary and Art Festival from February 8 to 12.
This landmark event, in Kandy and Colombo aims to spotlight the nation’s creative sectors, foster cultural exchange and provide a platform for local and international artistes.
Sri Lanka, with its rich cultural heritage and picturesque landscapes, is poised to elevate its literary and creative sectors through this festival. HSBC underscores its commitment to cultural and artistic growth by partnering to bring the “Best of the World” in literature, art and culture to the festival.
Curated by author Ashok Ferrey, the festival will have a line-up of 42 authors, including 22 international and 20 local literary figures. The Children’s Festival is curated by Artika Bakshi and Neluka Silva.
There will be artisanal walks, art talks and workshops in Kandy and Colombo. Short films, including Straight Line Crazy and Cassius X will be screened.
The festival’s mission includes engaging and inspiring youth through interactive workshops, panel discussions and mentorship programs. The festival will be held in Kandy on February 8 and 9 and in Colombo from February 10-12.
