Autokitz CC beat Engmed Institute

Autokitz Cricket Club recorded an anxious three wicket win against Engmed Institute in a 50 overs league cricket encounter, played at the Army Artillery ground Panagoda recently.

Sent in to bat first Engmed Institute lost wickets at regular intervals. This was due to the steady bowling performances by Sinesh Withanage, Panitha Dangalla and Geeshan Ayeshana who claimed two wickets a piece.

Engmed Institute’s opening batter Vindana Dinsara who played the anchor role scored a well compiled 44 runs but the side could manage to score only 133 runs.

In reply Autokitz CC scored 134 for seven wickets off just 29.4 overs to win by three wickets.

Gaveesha Buddhimal and Danushka Chaturange put on 53 runs in a second wicket partnership. Chaturanga contributed with 48 runs with four fours and two sixes.

Engmed Institute: 133 in 45.1 overs (Vinduna Dinsara 44, Isuru Wadduwage 14, Pantiha Dangalla 2/26, Sineth Withanage 2/17, Geehana Ayeshana 2/16)

Autokitz Cricket Club: 134/7 in 29.4 overs (Danushka Chaturanga 48, Gaveesha Buddhimal 14, Pandula Amarasinghe 20, Isurunath Dissanayake 25 n.o., Kenon Gerreyn 2/4, Achintha Amarasinghe 2/22)
