Trials to select athletes to take part in the South Asian Cross Country Championships to be held in Islamabad, Pakistan on March 3, will be held on January 20 at the Diyagama Stadium.
According to an official, entries will close on January 17 and no late entries will be entertained and all participants must produce a medical certificate of their fitness.
The trials are organized by Lanka Lions Sports Club.
Men’s athletes will have to run 10,000 metres and the under-20 will run 8000 metres.
Each athlete will be charged Rs. 500 per event. According to the official, cheques should be drawn in favour of ‘Lanka Lions Sports Club’ or deposited to A/C. 174100140350274, People’s Bank, Nugegoda. The deposit slip should be attached to the application form.
