The women’s rugby team of Navy Sports Club showed they just did not care who their opponents were as they smashed down their counterparts from the famed Colombo 7 CR and FC team by a whopping 47 points to nothing in their women’s inter club league rugby match at Welisara yesterday.
Navy scored as many as nine tries through Sandika Hemakumari who was their top scorer with three tries, Dilhani Polltewage who finished off her final game in her rugby career with two tries, Jayamali Samantha, Shanika Maduali, Kumari Dilrukshi and Wasane Sanjeewani who crossed the line once each to swell the total and dictate their prowess in no uncertain terms.
Only one try was converted and that was done by Nipuni Warshawithana.
