With the higher intention of producing quality and well qualified coaches in Sri Lanka, the Coaching and Development Committee of Sri Lanka Badminton (SLB) successfully conducted a Badminton World Federation (BWF) Level 2 course recently.

The core intention of this training programme was to impart comprehensive training procedures and modules to local badminton coaches, who will be responsible in nurturing the future talents of Sri Lanka in the future.

The BWF Level 2 training programme, conducted by the SLB vice president and the head of Coaching and Development Committee, Buddhika de Silva, had 20 top notch senior badminton coaches from the island, who had been involved with badminton for a long time. Through the training programme SLB intends to adhere to quality and up-to-date training methods, which in turn would help enhance the quality of the local competitions conducted by SLB, in addition to producing shuttlers who will be on par with global standards.
