Cristiano Ronaldo was born on February 5, 1985 and was named Ronaldo after the then US President Ronald Reagan. He was born to a poor family and he had to share a bedroom and washroom with his older brother and two older sisters. He started playing soccer at the age of eight.
Ronaldo, who was a very popular student in school had been disrespected by a teacher and this led him to turn away from school and give his full attention to soccer. Ronaldo currently plays for the Spanish Club ‘Real Madrid’ and the National Football Team of Portugal. He is also the present captain of the Portuguese team and is a world recognised football player well-known for his amazing goals.
