Ambassador of the Russian Federation of Sri Lanka and Maldives Levan s. Dzhagaryan met with the Minister of Power and Energy Kanchana Wijesekara and discussed energy sector policies of both countries
They also discussed the upcoming International Forum ATOMEXPO, a key exhibition event in the Russian nuclear industry to be held in SOCHI in March.
Russia has also pledged assistance and technology to build a 100 MW nuclear plant in Sri Lanka and had also agreed to take back the nuclear waste to reprocess them.
