Two visually impaired athletes who represented Sri Lanka at the fourth South Asian Games and won three gold medals and two silver medals at the meet held in Chennai, India and arrived at Katunayake Airport last Friday.
Khalid Osmond who competed in the open division boxing under 70 kgs defeated an Indian opponent in the final and won the gold medal.
In addition, he won the silver medal in the 5,000 meters race.
Asanka Dissanayake, a resident of Higurakgoda, Polonnaruwa won gold medals in the visually impaired 5,000 meter running event and 5,000 meter walking event and a silver medal in the 3,000 meter walking event.
