It was nice to see Priyantha Ekanayake former Kandy SC and CR and FC rugby player as the chief guest in the game between Kandy SC and CR & FC at Nittawela last Sunday.

An old boy of St. Anthony’s College, Katugastota he was one of the best that Sri Lanka has seen in rugby and was the first Antonian to captain the Sri Lanka rugby team for a record 10 successive years.

He led the country at four Rugby Asiads and also represented the country in basketball.

School cricket

At present school cricket is on the right track here in Kandy and Vidyartha College beat St. John’s College at Peradeniya and Dharmaraja College beat St. Joseph Vaz College by nine wickets at Lake View.

Trinity College and De Maznod College ended in no-decision at Asgiriya Stadium.
