Continuing its annual tradition, People’s Bank will launch the 17th edition of its Birth of Freedom program to mark Sri Lanka’s 76th Independence Day. The official launch events will be held today (February 4) at Castle Street Hospital for Women, Borella and De Soysa Hospital for Women, with the presence of Chairman Sujeewa Rajapakse and CEO/GM Clive Fonseka.
Nalin Pathiranage, Deputy General Manager (Retail Banking) said “People’s Bank has consistently led the way in shaping a bright future for the children of Sri Lanka. On February 4, we will celebrate Independence Day by carrying out the ‘ Birth of Freedom’ program conducted for the 17th time.”
Aimed at supporting every child born from February 1 to 14, People’s Bank staff will visit hospitals, presenting newborns with Isuru Udana Gift Vouchers worth Rs.2,000. Parents or guardians can take the gift voucher along with the child’s birth certificate to their nearest People’s Bank branch and promptly open an Isuru Udana Children’s Savings Account for the child.
Launched in 1998, Isuru Udana Account encourages parents to save for their children from an early stage, offering special interest rates and attractive gifts as the account balance grows.
On the 76th Independence Day, People’s Bank will renew its commitment to instill pride in Sri Lankans, securing the future of children through financial stability – the wisest gift for a true independence.
