Securing freedom, responsibility of all citizens – Opposition Leader

Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa in his Independence Day message said that the commitment to securing freedom is the responsibility of all citizens and unconditional commitment to securing freedom is also the responsibility of the rulers.

It added, “The respect and tribute of the nation should be paid to all those who sacrificed their lives to overcome all the challenges faced by the nation for the sake of supreme freedom. It has been 76 years since Sri Lanka won Independence, but we have failed to make the Independence won more meaningful nationally, economically, socially, educationally and religiously.”
