Four swimmers from AIS make history

Four swimmers from Asian International School (AIS), Christina Perumal, Sithuki Yonara, Kashika Vishalini and Nikhileshwaran Kumaraguru, will take wing on Monday to compete in the Youth Aquatic Meet in New Delhi, India starting on February 7 making it the first time that four swimmers from the same school are participating in a single overseas meet.

In 2014 three swimmers from AIS, Matthew Abeysinghe, Machiko Raheem and Kimiko Raheem, represented Sri Lanka internationally.

At 16 years old Christina Perumal is Sri Lanka’s second ranked breaststroke swimmer who will compete in the 50m, 100m and 200m breaststroke.

Sithuki Yonara will contest the 400m freestyle, 50m, 100m and 200m backstroke events. Nikhhileshwaran Kumaraguru will compete in the 50m backstroke and 50m butterfly while Kashika Vishalini will compete in the 50m backstroke and 100m butterfly events.
