Colombo Masters ‘B’ ended as champions at the Lanka Heritage Cricket Club’s over-50 inaugural Double Wicket tournament played recently at Colombo Colts Ground.
At the final Colombo Masters defeated SSC by seven runs to take the title as the winners scored 22 and restricted their opponents for 15.
SSC’s Johanne Pieris was adjudged man of the match.
Earlier at the quarter finals Colombo Masters B beat Chance while Old Bens beat MCA. The quarter final match between Colombo Masters A and PCU ended in a tie and PCU entered the semi final due to a higher number of boundaries. In the last quarter final game SSC beat Moratuwa SC.
At the semi finals SSC beat Old Bens by six runs while Colombo Masters ‘B’ beat PCU by seven runs to enter the final.
Jayantha Seneviratne the former Sri Lanka cricketer who is the president of Lanka Heritage Cricket Club said they hope to make it an annual event.
