Two students, Mohammadh Jawusi Fathima Aashifa and Radhakrishnan Yesindan, from the Department of Engineering, University of Jaffna have been selected for a six-month research internship program at the renowned Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras).
This opportunity, facilitated by the MoU signed between the two institutions as well as through the Consulate General of India, Jaffna highlights India’s commitment to enhance academic collaboration and student exchange programs between India and Sri Lanka.
The students will benefit from the guidance of qualified processors while also being a stipend. Felicitating the students, Consul General Shri. Raakesh Natraj also encouraged more students of the University of Jaffna to avail the opportunity to collaborate with Institutes of excellence in India.
The Consul General also discussed possibilities of further collaboration with members of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Jaffna, who embarked on an academic visit to the Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU) in Coimbatore. The members of the Faculty of Agriculture gained first-hand knowledge of the efforts at industry and community outreach programs of the TNAU and also discussed avenues for joint research.
