Defending champions Kandy SC could be facing the end of their reign as the best and most successful team in the inter club Premier League as they prepare to face their final hurdle against their nemesis CR and FC in Colombo next week.
The Red Shirts on the other hand are enjoying a successful run in the current season and look the most favoured team to win the title in what would be a comeback after many moons.
Kandy SC were fortunate that they were able to make a comeback against CH and FC having trailed the Maitland Crescent club last week after losing to CR and FC which dented their hopes of retaining the prize.
Kandy SC will also have to beat Havelocks this week to look ahead to the return match against CR and FC as defeat against the Park Club will be match over for them.
Havelocks and CH and FC are out of the running for the League title but are two teams that can do some spoiling work with nothing to lose.
Overall the inter club League season has been minus any super excitement with a further drop in crowd attendance and very little hope for a build-up in patronage in the foreseeable future.
