Royal rout St. Peter’s by innings and 61 runs

Royal College beat St. Peter’s College by an innings and 61 runs in their inter school cricket encounter at Reid Avenue yesterday after they made an imposing 364 for 5 declared and bundled out the Peterites for scores of 190 and 113 in both innings.

Batsmen Yasindu Dissanayake and Isula Geeganage with centuries and bowler Sineth Jayawardena with eight wickets played major roles in dumping the Peterites.

Royal College: 364/5 declared (Yasindu Dissanayake 152, Isula Geeganage 122, Sineth Jayawardena 41, Lashen Pushpakumara 3/35, Dilana Damsara 2/34)

St. Peter’s College: 190 (Asadisa de Silva 77, Savi Fernando 46, Rithil Suraweera 21, Sineth Jayawardena 6/53, Yenula Bandara 2/11) and 113 (Asadisa de Silva 34, Shennon Rodrigo 31, Yenula Bandara 4/16, Ramiru Perera 3/38, Sineth Jayawardena 2/21)
