The Best Corporate Citizen Sustainability (BCCS) Awards, organised by the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce has received a record number of applications. This year’s edition has received over 90 applications.
With 33 applications for the main award and 61 submissions for the projects awards, this surge in participation underscores the growing commitment of businesses to prioritises sustainable development as a core element of their operations.
Now in its 20th year, the BCCS Awards serve as a platform to recognise and celebrate the exemplary efforts of companies dedicated to the principles of corporate citizenship.
Secretary General and CEO of the Ceylon Chamber Buwanekabahu Perera said, “The competitive landscape of this year’s awards demonstrates that companies across sectors are proactively integrating sustainable practices into their business models. The diverse array of companies that have come forward to showcase their efforts in sustainable development, as well as the innovative projects across a variety of initiatives not only demonstrates a heightened awareness of the importance of sustainability but also underscores a genuine desire among businesses to contribute positively to our world.”
The submissions are now in the evaluation stage, and winners will be announced at the Awards Ceremony on March 12, at the Cinnamon Grand Hotel.
