Air Force Sports Club emerged champions and coveted the Trophy at the Eva Open Inter-Club ‘A’ division netball championship held at the Air Force ground in Colombo last weekend (11).
The Championship was organized by the Western Province Netball Association (WPNA) and nearly 200 teams contested.
Air Force SC defeated Army SC by a comprehensive 39 points to 16 in the final and retained the title for yet another year coached by veteran Ruba Jayalal.
The tournament was conducted under four different divisions including men’s teams and schoolgirl teams in three different age categories.
Thilini Wattegedara of Air Force SC was adjudged as the Netball Queen at this championship.
