Sri Lanka to host South Asian TT

Sri Lanka has been picked to host the South Asian Youth Table Tennis Championship 2024 by the Asian Table Tennis Union.

This prestigious event is certain to attract the best talents in the Under-19 and 15 boys’ and girls’ team and individual events.

The Municipal Council Indoor Stadium in Kandy has been picked to be the venue.

Team events are singles, doubles and mixed doubles conducted for boys and girls in the age categories of under-15 and 19.

Team events will be held on May 26 and 27, individual events on May 28 and 29 and the draw for all events will be held on May 25. The championships will be conducted in accordance with the current Laws of Table Tennis and the Regulations for International Competitions.

Two gold medals will be awarded to the winners in the team events in the under-19 and 15 categories for both boys and girls.

Even in the individual events gold medals will be awarded in the under-19 and 15 singles, doubles and mixed doubles.

The Table Tennis Association of Sri Lanka chaired by Chandana Perera is organizing the event.

These details were revealed to the media at a briefing held at the Colombo Campus premises on Thursday February 22.

The deadline for confirmation of participation is April 10 and the entry deadline is set for April 20, 2024.
