Northern Province has been selected to conduct the first phase of the Milo Football Camps in the under-10 and 12 age categories, organized in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Nestle Milo.
It will be held in all five districts of the Province during the next few weeks.
The camps are scheduled to be held as scheduled:
February 24 in Mannar district
March 2 in Mullaitivu district
March 9 in Vavuniya district
March 16 in Kilinochchi district
March 22 in Jaffna district
The provincial football program will see the participation of 250 teams involving 3,750 players from all five districts, the highest number on record according to the organizers.
At the end of this district rounds, the top 16 teams, comprising boys and girls teams, from each age category will advance to the final round that feature a total of 80 teams that will include 1,200 players. The final round is scheduled to take place at the Duraiappa Stadium in Jaffna on March 23.
The Milo Football Camps program aims to select a group of talented individuals and be given specialized training on weekends over the coming months. The training will be handled by seasoned coaches from the Sri Lanka Schools Football Association.
Ministry of Education, Northern Province Department of Education with the sponsorship of Nestlé MILO, the Sri Lanka Schools Football Association will manage the facilitation of this program.
