The Sri Lanka Association of Racing Drivers And Riders (SLARDAR), has lined up eight major racing events for this year starting with the Mahameruwa Rally Cross (1) to be held on March 16 and 17.
These races are to be held in collaboration with the Asian Motor Racing Club (AMRC) marking the return of the Sri Lanka Super Series 2024.
The launch event for the Sri Lanka Super Series 2024 was held on February 22 at the DIMO 800 Auditorium, located at Sirimavo Bandaranayake Mawatha, Colombo 14.
The stage is set for an action-packed season following the resounding success of last year’s Sri Lanka Super Series 2023, which saw MX Motocross Bike rider Lahiru Jeewantha and SLGT Driver Ushan Perera clinch the Champion Rider and Driver of the Year titles, respectively.
With Title sponsor Nippon Paints leading the charge, alongside esteemed partners including Maxxis Tyres, Prima Kottumee, Orzone Mineral Water, Sri Lanka Insurance Corporation General Ltd and ESDEE Battery, SLARDAR are gearing up for an electrifying Sri Lanka Super Series 2024.
SLARDAR made significant strides in 2023 by unveiling the ground-breaking Mahameruwa Motorsports Arena, a state-of-the-art facility situated in Nalla, Giriulla.
This pioneering venue boasts world-class racing tracks for both cars and motorcycles, complemented by a range of amenities including a restaurant area, swimming pool, training rooms, accommodation facilities, ATV track and 4×4 challenge track, among others.
The Nippon Paint Mahameruwa Motorsports Arena by SLARDAR not only serves as a premier racing destination but also doubles as a testing ground, driver and rider training facility and a catalyst for advancing motorsports culture across the nation.
With the objective of taking this event to an even higher level, SLARDAR has meticulously crafted a series of events under the Sri Lanka Super Series 2024 banner. From the Mahameruwa Rally Cross to the Single Tree Hill Climb and Lake Cross, Cavalry Supercross, Mahameruwa Auto Cross, Katukurunda Circuit Meet and culminating with the prestigious Sri Lanka Super Series 2024 Awards Night in December, the calendar promises a thrilling array of competitions for enthusiasts and participants alike.
