Brain drain which was a major issue due to the country’s economic situation, is now reversing, said President of the CA Sri Lanka, Sanjay Bandara.

He told Sunday Observer Business that the numbers and now showing a sharp decline.

Bandara that soon after the Covid pandemic, globally some industries/companies were forced to shutdown and people who were employed in them found alternative jobs.

When the pandemic ended and business institutions regained to normalcy there was a huge demand for jobs and Sri Lankans found it very easy to move into these jobs especially in Europe, UK, USA, Canada Australia and other countries.

However, when vacancies were filled globally the demand diminished.

“Some of the people who went overseas also found it difficult to get along with the conditions there and they too wanted to come back. Other Asian countries too filled up these vacancies and the open job market is now dying up,” he said.
