A cricket stadium which is under construction at Ratnapura was vested in the public yesterday after completing its preliminary level constructions with the participation of former captain Sanath Jayasuriya and current players Wanindu Hasaranga and Pathum Nissanka.
The venue is being constructed with financial contributions from Sri Lanka Cricket and will benefit club and school cricket in Sabaragamuwa.
Minister of Irrigation, Wildlife and Forest Resources Conservation Pavithra Wanniarachchi, State Minister of Provincial Councils and Local Government Janaka Wakkumbura, Parliamentarians Dilan Perera and Akila Ellawala and Sabaragamuwa Provincial Council Chairman and President of Ratnapura District Cricket Association Kanchana Jayaratne were also present at the ceremony
