Sri Lanka Tourism participates in Austrian travel fair

Sri Lanka Tourism participated at Austria’s premier trade fair for holidays, travel, and leisure, the FerienMesse Wien 2024 again.

The event took place in Vienna, Austria recently. This international event is renowned as the leading tourism trade fair in Austria.

Key stakeholders from the tourism secto, and representatives from the Gem and Jewellery and Tea Board, participated. The Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau (SLTPB) was represented by Marketing Officer Jagath Perera, alongside Sri Lanka Mission officials in Vienna.

Sri Lanka Tourism arranged a Sri Lanka Kottu seminar to highlight the destination’s much loved spicy snack, featuring experienced chefs to showcase the authentic flavours of Sri Lankan cuisine to Austrian audiences.

Video presentations, highlighting the beauty and charm of Sri Lanka were also made. Throughout the event, live cultural performances and demonstrations enthralled the visitors.

A display of Sri Lanka’s diverse attractions and offerings was also included, with fair goers participating in destination related contests and raffles, offering prices such as free trips, hotel stays or tours. Along with the promotional activities, the Sri Lanka Embassy in Austria organised cultural and tourism promotional events in Vienna coinciding with the travel fair. Those events were at one of the prestigious venues/Shopping malls in the heart of Vienna, Lugner City Vienna, Designer Outlet Pandorf, and Westfield Shopping City – Sud.
