The Sir Henry Steel Olcott Sports Foundation (SHSOSF) formed in 1996 will seek a hat-trick of wins when they confront the MCA President’s Team in their third veterans T20 Cricket encounter for the Bandula Warnapura Memorial Challenge Trophy today (7) at the MCA ground.

The game is scheduled to commence at 10 am. SHSOSF led by Arjuna Ranatunga won both encounters in 2022 and 2023.

They beat the MCA by 22 runs in the inaugural year and followed it up with a 20 runs win last year.

Old Nalandian, Bandula Warnapura, Sri Lanka’s first Test captain in 1982 and a founder member of the Foundation in 1996, passed away on October 18, 2021 at the age of 68 years.

In preparation, both teams were hard at practices for the past two weeks and yet to name their squads.
