Phupa Anmai
A chip off the old block, Phuba is an all-rounder. He started practicing Chinese Kung-Fu with his father Billy Wong at the age of three. The 10-year-old Thai prodigy is also a rising soccer star in his hometown of Thatum Surin.
“I always used to watch my mom and dad practice martial arts together. I’m here with these prestigious awards and trophies thanks to their influence and constant encouragement,” Phuba says.
His father, Billy Wong, known by fans as the ‘International Kung Fu Star’, was also a martial arts prodigy during his formative years. As a stuntman, Wong has worked in Thai, Hong Kong and Sri Lankan cinema. “Phuba’s favourite sport is soccer. Unlike other kids, he just relaxes after coming home after practices. He trains until he becomes proficient. This is what really impresses me because this is the same way I practiced Kung Fu when I was a kid. He is very passionate about what he is doing”, says Wong.
Wong says he is ready to give Phuba his fullest support if he wants to be a stuntman. “My wife Nipa says the same thing: whatever area he wants to excel in, we will give the best support”, said Wong.
