Dharmapala force a nail-biting draw with Rahula

Manusha Pabasara survived three close calls in the last three balls of the 13th Battle of the Golden Lions at Uyanwatta Stadium last evening to help Dharmapala College Pannipitiya force a draw against Rahula College Matara. Dharmapala chasing a victory target of 186 were 140 at the fall of the ninth wicket with three balls remaining in the game.

Rahula scored 176 in their first essay while Dharmapala continuing from their overnight score of 85/7 were all out for 117.

Rahula made a sporty declaration at 123/3 in their second essay giving Dharmapala a gettable victory target of 186 to be scored in a minimum of 50 overs.
