Wesley College and St. Anne’s College have been demoted to Tier B from next season after the former lost to Royal College and the latter lost to Maliyadeva College in their relegation round fixtures.
Royal beat Wesley on the first inning in their fixture played at Campbell Place. Nethwin Dharmaratne came up with a superb all round performance for Royal by claiming two wickets and then top scoring with 78 runs to help them overhaul the Wesley first innings total. Maliyadeva College also beat St. Anne’s College on the first innings at Polonnaruwa.
Skipper Gayana Weerasinghe scored his fourth century of the season as he made152 off 189 deliveries with16 boundaries and four sixes. He also excelled with the ball claiming six wickets for 99 runs.
