Two boxers from Kandy will represent Sri Lanka at the U-22 Elite Asian Games 2024 which will take place in Astana, Kazakhstan from April 25 to May 8.
Out of the four boxers two are from Kandy in Heshan Jayasinghe from St. Sylvester’s College and Salman Faris from Trinity College.
Heshan Jayasinghe won a silver medal in the 34th South Asian/South East Asian Boxing Championship and led the Sylvestrians at the 106th Stubbs Shield Boxing Championship for the 17th time.
Salman Faris, a prominent boxer won the Bronze medal at the 34th South Asian/SouthEast Asian Boxing meet.
Vidyartha rugby gets boots
Vidyartha College’s Sevens rugby squad were presented with twelve pairs of boots by the members of the Vidyartha Rugby Development Board.
Day-night rugby carnival
St. Sylvester’s College old boys are planning for an event called Vesters Rugby Carnival 2024 to be played on May 18 at their school mini grounds at Asgiriya. It will be an inter-house and old boys tag rugby tournament, on a day and night affair.
