The British School in Colombo (BSC) celebrated the Sinhala and Tamil New Year with several cultural events and traditional games during their special Avurudu assembly at the school premises.
The school’s student population, which is made up of over 53 nationalities, and students from all over the world joined hands to celebrate this important event on a grand scale.
The highlights of the event showcased many Sri Lankan traditions and rituals, featuring cultural song and dance performances presented by the performers of the junior and senior schools.
The Avurudu celebrations at the BSC turned out to be a unique event as students and teachers from all over the world gathered to celebrate the traditions and customs unique to Sri Lanka.
