The Puttalam District Badminton Association in affiliation with Sri Lanka Badminton has called for applications for the Puttalam District Open Badminton Championships scheduled to take place at the Sir Alfred F. Peiris Indoor Courts in Wennappuwa from June 1 to 7.
Organisers say the tournament serves as a second-level ranking event.
The championships feature a range of categories including Junior, Senior, Combined Age Group, Open, and Plate categories.
The senior category will have players in action in the singles, doubles and mixed doubles categories. The participants can compete in the women’s and men’s singles, doubles and mixed doubles matches in Open and combined age category.
The event is sponsored by McFoil, Mobil, Li Ning, 3M and GAC. According to the organisers the tournament offers significant rewards including cash prizes totaling Rs.500,000 along with medals and certificates for the winners.
