Sri Lanka ’96 Legends win

Sri Lanka’s ‘96 Legends team led by World Cup winning captain Arjuna Ranatunga beat the Indian Diaspora team in Sri Lanka by four wickets in the final of the six-a-side Inter-Indian Association Cricket Tournament played at the Colts ground last Sunday (5).

Some of the players in the Sri Lanka Legends team comprised of Arjuna Ranatunga, Aravinda de Silva, and Ravindra Pushpakumara who were in the Sri Lanka World Cup winning team.

More than ten teams from the Indian community working with several companies in Sri Lanka participated in this six-a-side soft ball cricket tournament organized by the Indian Cultural Association.

The Indian Diaspora team batted first and scored 109 for three wickets in five overs.

In reply the Sri Lanka Legends team scored 110 for one wicket in 5.3 overs.
