Sri Lanka end in fourth place

Sri Lanka’s men’s volleyball team was given a bitter send-off at the 2024 Central Asian Championships with an unexpected loss to Kyrgyzstan on Friday.

Both countries entered the competition on Friday in the clash for third place in the Central Asian Volleyball Tournament held in Pakistan.

However, Sri Lanka ended on the losing side as the team succumbed to a 3-1 defeat in this match against Kyrgyzstan that played consistent and controlled game till the end to secure third place.

Kyrgyzstan was able to win the first and second sets of the match 25-20 and 25-17 but in the third set, Sri Lanka fought hard and managed to win 20-25.

However, the Kyrgyz players managed to win the fourth set of the match with a score of 25-23 in a closely contested tussle.
