Sri Lanka’s men’s volleyball team registered a stunning win against Iran in their fourth match of Central Asian Volleyball Championship 2024.
Ranked at 60th in the world, Sri Lanka managed to dish out a superb effort to defeat the 15th ranked Iran in straight sets (3-0).
In a hard-fought contest, Sri Lanka overcame their opponents in the first set with scores of 25-22 before producing a remarkable performance to clinch the second set 25-17.
In the final set, Iran showed some fight, but the islanders managed to hang on to a win with scores of 25-21.
Sri Lanka lost their first two games of the tournament against Kyrgyzstan and Pakistan but came back strongly to beat Afghanistan (3-0) comprehensively in the third game.
