Wariyapola cricket champs
Wariyapola Club emerged champions with Rotary Club of Colombo Mid City finishing runner-up in the annual TRR Rajan’s Memorial Cricket Carnival held at the Nittawela rugby ground.
Sylvestrians do well in carom
Carom players from St. Sylvester’s College did well finishing as winners or runners-up in different age groups at the Central Province Carom Championship.
In the Under-11 Prasanna Hettiarachchi was second and in the Under-13 Hasitah Ratnayake was first while Wasindu Ashitha was second and Disen Wickremasinghe was third.
The Under-15 event made Thisal Thumpalage finish first, Thiwanaka Waththegedera second and Nadeesh Kulatunga third. In the Under-17 Nayana Dhanayake was first, Abdul Halik second and Poorna Balasuriya third.
In the Under-19 MRM Ibrahim finished first, M. Fahad second and M. Muthaseer third.
Sri Rahula rugby
Sri Rahula College are in the Division One segment ‘B’ at the Schools Rugby season this year. The other schools in their group are Lumbini College, Maliyadewa College, St. Benedict’s College, Carey College and St. John’s College. The captain of the side is HFCR Fonseka and the vice captain is Heshan Wijeratne
