Four new teams are the fray to battle it out for the ‘Honda Trophy’ in the MCA ‘G’ division 25-overs cricket tournament sponsored by Stafford Motors for the 13th successive year.
A total of 50 teams including the four new comers will be pooled into eight groups that got underway during the weekend of May 4 and 5.
The four brand new teams are, Acuity Knowledge Partners, Pelawatte Dairy, Contrinex Ceylon and Vogue Tex.
Following are the teams with grouping:
Group ‘A’ (6 Teams): ACL Cables PLC, MBSL Bank, Star Garments (Pvt). Ltd, CDB ‘B’, Hayleys Group ‘C’ and Acuity Knowledge Partners
Group ‘B’ (6 Teams): 99X, Brandix Apparel Solutions, Regnis Appliances, Metropolitan Group, Palewatte Dairy and Sri Lanka Telecom
Group ‘C’ (7 Teams): Pyramid Wilmar, CIC Holdings, Sysco Labs, United Tractor, Contrinex Ceylon, Revocare Solutions and Vouge Tex
Group ‘D’ (6 Teams): Alliance Finance, Amana Bank, Lion Brewery, VS Information, Amazon Trading and Mobitel
Group ‘E’ (6 Teams): JF and I Packaging, MAC Holdings, Allianz Insurance, Orient Finance, NDB ‘B’, Singer Sri Lanka ‘B’
Group ‘F’ (7 Teams): HNB Assurance, Kelani Cables, Waters Edge, Synergen Health, Wiley Global Technology, ZILLONe System Solutions and Unilever Sri Lanka
Group ‘G’(6 Teams): Aitken Spence, Coca Cola, MAS Kreeda, Inqube Global, South Asian Technologies and A Baur and Company
Group ‘H’ (6 Teams): McLarens Holdings, HSBC ‘C’, Technomedics International, London Stock Exchange Group, Commercial Credit and Finance PLC and Ceyline Holdings.
Special Awards will be presented to the Best Batsman, Best Bowler, Man of the Series and Man of the Final.
