Moves are afoot to play all inter-school cricket matches over a three-day duration from the present two days which has raised several eye-brows among the fraternity, the Sunday Observer learns.
It follows discussions held between Sri Lanka Cricket officials and school cricket officials.
Concerns have been raised over a school match to be played like a five-day Test match taking into account travel by teams to the venue before and after a match while the absence of pitch curators at schools to prepare strips to last three days has also caused an uproar.
It had also been discussed to play all so-called big matches over a three day period which is also likely to be shot down especially by coaches who don’t like losing if a match is played over three days.
