Diyasaru Park, a 60-acre urban oasis in Colombo, will host the first WLI (Wetland Link International) Asia Oceania Conference from today, June 16 to June 22.
The event, organised by the Sri Lanka Land Development Corporation will bring together over 100 officials from over 70 wetland centers across Asia, Australia, and New Zealand.
The conference, themed “Wetlands and Wetland Centers for Ecotourism,” aims to foster collaboration and promote the conservation and sustainable management of wetlands
The event begins on June 17 with an opening and learning session at Waters Edge, followed by a fishing cat and nocturnal observation at Diyasaru Park in the evening conducted by the Urban Fishing Cat Conservation Project, permitting visitors to explore untouched areas of Diyasaru Park by foot and boat.
