Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Saudi Arabia, Ameer Ajwad held an introductory meeting with the members of Sri Lankan Community Cultural Forum in Riyadh last week.
The purpose was to explore ways and means to promote bilateral cooperation between Sri Lanka and Saudi Arabia with the engagement of the Sri Lankan community in Saudi Arabia.
Addressing the members, Ambassador A Ajwad recalled the significant role played by the Sri Lankan community in Saudi Arabia while the two countries commemorate the 50th anniversary of the setting up of diplomatic relations this year.
He said that the Sri Lankan community is an important component of the bilateral relations between the two countries and invited all the members of the Sri Lankan community in the Kingdom to make their active contribution for Sri Lanka to support and partner with the Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030.
