The National Olympic Committee of Sri Lanka (NOC) has lined up a variety of events to celebrate the Olympic Day to be held at the Digana Sports Complex in Kandy on June 19.
This year it is held in conjunction with the celebration held in France, the venue of the 2024 Olympics.
Olympic Day was first celebrated in 1948 to commemorate the birth of the Modern Olympic Movement in June 1894 at Sorbonne in Paris. The event aims to promote participation in sports across the globe and uphold the Olympic values of excellence, friendship and respect.
The activities will be Zumba Session for sports officers and the public at the Digana Sports Complex and horse riding workshop for school children and youth at the Victoria Golf Club on June 18. (TBR)
