Retired Rear Admiral Princely Liyanage scaled Adam’s Peak through four trails in 24 hours.

Rear Admiral Liyanage set foot on the first trail of climbing Adam’s Peak from Hatton-Nallathanniya, on the afternoon of April 8 under the supervision of “Serendib World Records Chairman Dr. Lal Ekanayaka. He took the Erathna–Kuruvita route to climb down. He returned on the same route to reach Adam’s Peak to mark the second climb.

He descended on the Ratnapura–Palabaddala route and returned via the same route to reach the Adam’s Peak to mark the third climb. Liyanage took the Deraniyagala – Uda Maliboda route and returned on the same route to reach Adam’s Peak to mark the fourth climb. Next, he took the Hatton – Nallathanniya route and accomplished the feat 14 minutes earlier than anticipated to set a world record.

Rear Admiral Liyanage, a devout climber of Adam’s Peak for the past seven years, made meticulous preparations for the accomplishment, seeking blessings from the Chief Bhikkhu at the Pelmadulla Raja Maha Vihara and coordinating with local authorities to ensure a smooth and journey.
