The officer cadets of Intake 50 of the Sri Lanka Army marked a significant milestone as they celebrated their 25th anniversary at the Regimental Centre of the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment in Boyagane, Kurunegala, yesterday.
Commissioned as officers following their passing out parade on December 31, 2001, the members of Intake 50 have spent a quarter of a century dedicated to serving the nation. Trained at the Sri Lanka Military Academy, this cohort has embodied camaraderie, discipline, and an unwavering commitment to their duties.
Intake 50 commemorated its Silver Jubilee by paying tribute to the enduring legacy of those who have served with selfless commitment. This anniversary serves as a poignant reminder of their remarkable journey and their significant contributions to the nation’s security and stability.
The cadets paid tribute to the thirteen war heroes from Intake 50 who made the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty to protect the motherland.
They extended their heartfelt appreciation to the instructors who moulded them and remembered their parents, spouses, and children, who have been pillars of strength during their challenging journey. They also acknowledged their batchmates who have retired from active service due to battle and non-battle reasons.
