In a thrilling display of skill, three students from S. Thomas’ College, Mt Lavinia won in their respective age groups at the 7th All Island Archery Championship Wayamba, held in Kurunegala.
The championship witnessed exceptional talent from several schools and clubs across the country, including Ananda College, Nalanda College, Royal College, Gateway College, Maliyadeva College, Asian International School, Wayamba Archery, Racecourse Archery and Uva Archery Club.
The Thomian team captain, Rohith Kiridena won the gold medal in the under 21 age category. In the under 17 age category, Dineth Gunawardena and Senaka de Silva won the silver and bronze medals respectively.
The team was coached by veteran archer and professional trainer Jagath Weeratunga.
