Rajans vs Antonians

Dharmaraja College and St. Anthony’s College will confront each other in their schools rugby encounter at Bogambara today. Kick off will be at 4.15 p.m. Both teams are evenly balanced although the Antonians are favoured to win today.

KDCA T20 – Finals

Old Trinitiains Sports Club and Visuvious Sports club have qualified for the finals of the KDCA T-20 tournament. Old Trinitians SC beat Saracens CC and Visuvious SC beat Kandy Zeylanikans in the semi-finals. The final will take place at the Prisons ground Pallekelle at the end of the month.

VCK fifth in athletics

Vidyartha College athletes took the fifth place in the Kandy Zonal Meet 2024, held at Digana Stadium recently. The school was placed first in the U-20, 400m event with a meet record, 1500m 2nd place, 800m 2nd place and 400×4 3rd place. Their U-18 team won the 800m and the 400×4 relay, 800m 2nd place, 200m 2nd and 3rd place, 4X100 2nd place, 400 3rd place, 400m 3rd, 100m 2nd and 3rd and their U-16 and high jump finished in first place. Their under-17 Carom team was second in the provincial competition 2024 that was held at St. Sylvester’s College.

St. Sylvester’s win

St. Sylvester’s College beat St. Aloysius College in their inter school rugby match by 29 points (2 goals, 3 tries) to 12 (2 tries, 1 conversion) at the Bogambara Stadium on Friday. At half time the winners led 10-5.

The scorers for the winners were skipper Anushka Samarasekara two tries and one each by Kathisha Thilakrathna and Vismitha Balasuriya. Tishna Eranda made the conversion.
