Lake House Interdepartmental Cricket matches took place yesterday morning at the Air Force Ground, organized annually by the Lake House Sports Club.

After a prolonged hiatus of three years due to the pandemic, this event marked a poignant return to competitive sporting activities. The presence of Mrs. Apsari Thilakarathna, wife of the esteemed Sri Lankan cricket star Mr. Hashan Thilakarathna, alongside the Board of Directors of Lake House and media spokesman, Sri Lanka Air Force, Group Captain Eranda Geeganage added to the event’s prestige as chief guests. The tournament was set to feature participation from seventeen teams, beginning with the customary lighting of the oil lamp ceremony.

Unfortunately, inclement weather intervened during the first-round matches, resulting in a significant three-hour delay. Consequently, the organizing committee made the decision to postpone the matches. They will announce a rescheduled date for these matches in the coming days. Here some highlights of the event.
