The Export Development Board (EDB) in collaboration with Sri Lanka Embassy in Jakarta organised a briefing session on “Indonesian Investment opportunities for Foreign Investors” with Directorate of Investment Promotion of Indonesia and the Ministry of Investments of Indonesia on July 12.
The main focus of this session was on the construction and power and energy sectors, to provide Sri Lankan industry representatives with valuable insights on investment/tender opportunities in Indonesia.
Director of Investment Promotion for East Asia, South Asia, Middle East and Africa, Cahyo Purnomo and Vice President, Hydro Energy PT PLN (Persero Hendro Prasetyawan) delivered presentations on “Investment Policy and Opportunities in Indonesia” and “Renewable Energy Procurement System in Indonesia.
Representing the Sri Lanka Construction and Power and Energy Industry Associations, President, Major Contractors of Sri Lanka, Priyantha Perera, President, Chamber of Construction Industry Sri Lanka, Jayantha Perera and Small Hydro Power Association, Director and CEO Eco Power Group, Firdowsy Ismail, and representatives of several private companies were also present.
Representing the Sri Lanka embassy in Jakarta was First Secretary Ms. Nilanthi K. Pelawaththage. Chairman, Sri Lanka-Bangladesh Committee, Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Deepak Samtani, was also present. Director, Export Services, EDB, Ms. Indumini Kodikara conducted the session. Assistant Director, Export Services, EDB. Ms. Kumuduni Irugalbandara, coordinated the event.
