Haggala Botanical Garden

The Haggala Botanical Garden was established in 1861. It is situated 16 km from Nuwara Eliya. It is 28 hectares in extent. The Haggala Botanical Garden’s first cultivation was Cinchona, Later, tea cultivation was done. The climate is cold from December to February, and from April to August, it is warm. The land is covered with flora.

During spring in Nuwara Eliya thousands of visitors go to see the blooms. The Haggala Garden is famous for the number of species of orchids and roses.
