A move to have the media manager of the National Olympic Committee (NOC) Sivaraja Gopinath at the Olympic Games in Paris, France has been thwarted by the Sports Ministry that rejected his name.
Sivarajah who is also an official, is currently bound by a court order that prevents him from leaving the country and is currently out of bail over a case pending against him.
In May this year Member of Parliament Chaminda Mayadunne branded the NOC as a most corrupt organisation in the country and called for a thorough investigation.
Last year former Sports Minister Roshan Ranasinghe in a letter fired to the Director General of the Olympic Council of Asia highlighted several financial misdeeds of the NOC.
