Thomians too much for Rajans

S. Thomas’ College delivered a dominant performance, securing a bonus points victory against visiting Dharmaraja College with a 46-12 win in their Dialog ‘A’ Division Schools Rugby Tournament match at Havelock Park yesterday after leading 36-5 at halftime.

The Thomians scored four goals, three tries, and one penalty to amass their 46 points. Dharmaraja College managed one goal and one try for their 12 points.

The home team opened the scoring through a maul with Seneshka Liyanagunawardena producing his seventh try of the season for Yehan Bulathsinhalage to convert.

Dharmaraja responded two minutes later when Prabuddhika Madushana scored a try, courtesy of a pass by Venuka Wickramasuriya.

In the 19th minute Liyanagunawardena scored his second try and Bulathsinhalage’s conversion extended the lead to 14-5.

Bulathsinhalage scored a try in the 27th minute and converted it himself, pushing the lead to 19-5 followed by prop forward Eyan Pereira touching down to make the scores 24-5.

Fullback Avishka Perera extended the lead further with two tries for the Thomians to end the second half at 36-5.
